Telecom Senior Principal RAN Hardware Engineering Technologist
    Denver Colorado

First Point Group is urgently looking for a Hardware Solution Architect to join our client team as an employee and benefits.

    What you’ll achieve

You’ll help drive the architecture and definition of next-generation server, storage, and networking platforms optimized for the telecommunications industry, and in particular for one of our large customers, as well as validating various aspects of the platforms with a focus on the RAN aspects of the solution. You’ll collaborate closely with our customer’s key architects to co-develop architectures that meet their 5G network needs. You’ll also work closely across Dell with product management, system level architects, and various development teams to engineer the RAN features needed to make Dell and Dell’s telecom customer successful. You’ll form opinions on improvements to the architecture or to the system configurations, and you’ll help incorporate your opinions into the specification of future generations of the products. You’ll have a hand in designing Dell’s products and, ultimately, in the emerging 5G networks across the world.

    You will:

Be the primary hardware engineering architect liaison with one of Dell’s largest telecom customer
Be on-site at the customer’s facility as your primary work location (Denver, CO)
Participate in architectural discussions within Dell, representing the needs of Dell’s customer, and with key telecom ecosystem partners, both hardware and software
Apply telecom-specific requirements to ensure telecom-optimized functionality and performance
Drive independent research on the applicability of alternative hardware architectures in RANs, considering many design aspects across performance, power, thermal, and cost
Develop dimensioning models to aid in optimization of Dell’s solution proposals that advance the customer’s needs
Take the first step towards your dream career
Every Dell Technologies team member brings something unique to the table. Here’s what we are looking for with this role:

    Essential Requirements
System-level integration experience for telecom solutions
Familiar with various modern CPU architectures across Intel, AMD, and ARM
Telecom systems experience of O-RAN architecture (RU/BBU/CU/DU/vRAN/etc.) is a plus but mandatory
Knowledge of various Telco standards & protocols, including precision network timing (SyncE/PTP)
Experience implementing and/or validating implementations of industry standard specifications (either telecom or non-telecom)
Creation of component-level and system-level test specifications to validate both components and solutions in RAN deployments
Deep familiarity with developing platforms around Intel’s Xeon roadmap
Demonstrated ability to engage across various disciplines: BIOS, power, network protocols, signal integrity, etc., to provide architectural and implementation recommendations into engineering design teams
Familiarity with L1 acceleration strategies and implementations in an O-RAN or vRAN architecture
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or equivalent industry experience

15+ years of relevant experience in telecommunication industry and working experience with OEM venders is a must
