FPG are recruiting on behalf of our client. a global engineering and manufacturing corporation with business operations in 19 countries around the world.

They are looking to employ a German speaking Fibre (Fiber/FTTH/FTTX) Design Engineer to support their customer in Central Europe. This is a remote based position, with some travel once a month to Switzerland.


Job Description: Join our team as a Fibre Designer, where you'll be instrumental in deciphering project requirements from a technical standpoint. You'll serve as a liaison between customers and project delivery teams, ensuring seamless processes, impeccable delivery, and top-notch quality. Proficiency in both German and English is a must to effectively communicate with our diverse clientele and project teams. This role offers flexibility in work arrangements, including onsite, hybrid, or remote options, with the opportunity to work in Switzerland, Germany, or the UK.


Key Responsibilities:

Engage with customers in German via email and verbal communication, while collaborating with project teams in English.
Acquaint yourself with the technological landscape of our customers to align project deliverables and requirements effectively.
Proactively tackle technical and process-related hurdles as they arise.
Develop a deep understanding of fibre technology and its applications within the telecommunications sector.
Foster teamwork and cooperation within hybrid and offshore teams.
Adapt readily to evolving project demands, showcasing flexibility and agility.


Qualifications and Skills:

Fluency in written and spoken German and English is essential.
2-3 years' experience as a fiber designer.
Familiarity with GE Smallworld is advantageous, and proficiency in other GIS skills is mandatory.
Exceptional communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Proactive approach to problem-solving, addressing challenges before they escalate.
Collaborative team player comfortable with diverse and distributed teams, with the ability to train project teams on technical aspects.
Willingness to travel to customers in Switzerland as required.
