IMS Core Testing Engineer

Job Title: IMS Core Tester (SBC, CFX)
Location: Milan, Italy (Onsite Testing Required, some remote work is OK).
Summary: We are seeking an experienced IMS Tester with expertise in Session Border Controllers (SBC) and Call Functionality eXtension (CFX) for a major customer IMS project. The ideal candidate will have prior engagement with Core projects and a solid understanding of end-to-end testing methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct onsite and remote call testing for both fixed and mobile networks in collaboration with senior engineers.
2. Capture and analyze traces to support testing activities undertaken by senior engineers.
3. Assist in technical administrative tasks, including downloading and organizing traces in the artifact repository.
4. Support non-technical administrative duties such as updating testing-related documentation.
5. Assist in updating documentation related to the testbed setup and configurations.
6. Collaborate closely with the Test Manager and Senior Engineers to ensure timely delivery of technical deliverables.
7. Report progress and activities to the Test Manager and Senior Engineers as required.
8. Provide support for issue resolution during testing phases.
Testing Scope:
As part of the project agreement, the selected candidate will be responsible for the following testing activities:
• Planning and executing testing activities in line with project requirements.
• Conducting onsite and remote call testing.
• Tracing activities to support testing processes.
• Assisting in technical and non-technical administrative tasks related to testing.
• Reporting progress and issues to relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Telecommunications, or equivalent).
• Proven experience in IMS testing with a focus on SBC and CFX, preferably within Nokia Core projects.
• Strong understanding of SIP, VoIP, and IMS protocols.
• Proficiency in capturing and analyzing network traces using tools such as Wireshark.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality assurance processes.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in Italian is a plus.
