Job Overview

The Data centre Security Engineer (Level 2) provides second-level support to SOC Operations and acts as Subject Matter Expert for Datacenter and Cloud Security operations. They intervene and execute in vulnerability assessment, Incident response handling and
Continuous Monitoring requirements to protect sensitive data. They also carry out proactive analyses in order to improve network security and assist in the planning and development of the customer?s data security.
This role will also be acting as the interface between the operation team and the vendor-specific maintenance and advance support for all security-related matters.


  • Detailed knowledge of Data Center and Cloud Security domain with experience in providing Level 2 / Level 3 technical support to network security management
  • Experience in prioritizes time allocation against critical tasks, and troubleshooting capability through to resolution of the requisite management of additional escalation for support
  • A constantly changing environment and is able to relate impacting issues and risks to customer, understanding their business implications.
  • Working in a multi-customer, multi-vendor, multi-technology environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency of Linux, Unix or Windows administration
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Network Security (DNS, TCP/IP, NAT, PKI, Firewalls, IPS/IDS, AAA/RADIUS, VPN)
  • Experience with Security virtualization technologies, Virtual Firewalls and troubleshooting experience
  • Preferred knowledge in: Ipsec, VPN, Load Balancing, Iperf, MRTG, MTR, Routing Protocols, SSH, Network Monitoring and troubleshooting tools
  • Preferred knowledge in programming or Scripting; Java, Perl, Ruby, Ruby, C# or PHP
  • Experience managing full application security from the OS up through custom applications
  • Broad knowledge of data center, virtualization, and cloud technologies & associated best practices
  • Experience working with Virtualization technologies and architectures, based on VMWare ESXi & KVM
  • Some coding skills in Python or similar (Perl, Java, etc.), with emphasis on writing modular, scalable code
  • Familiarity with API security service design
  • Solid Unix skills – Encompassing shell scripting, Perl, Puppet
  • Hands on experience of implementing cloud security services and virtual firewalls with Openstack, CBIS preferred
  • Experience of Airframe, HP or other cloud orchestration product is highly desirable
  • Knowledge on respective Physical and Virtual Network Function Operations i.e. vEPC, vIMS, vSDM, vRAN, EPC, IMS, SDM, AAA. HLR/HLS, Location base services, charging gateways etc will be preferred
  • Thorough understanding of ITIL and ETOM frameworks. Preferably ITIL certified engineers
  • Good understanding of network security design principles
  • Experience with Linux systems from the kernel level and up
