We are looking for an experienced accountant to oversee the Accounting and Financial Reporting function of a multi-entity portfolio in order to support their continued expansion. Focus areas include treasury, cash flow forecasting and planning, debt management and compliance reporting, GAAP accounting, and monthly close. In order to effectively collaborate with their Property Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable departments in the creation of timely and accurate financial statements, reports, and analyses, the ideal applicant will be a success-driven team player.

An explanation of the duties:


• Lead the company's monthly accounting, internal reporting, and external reporting efforts in accounting.

• Oversee the treasury department, which includes creating wire templates, finishing book transfers, and keeping an eye on the funds on a daily basis.

• Prepare all entries for payroll-related tasks, such as recording accruals for bonuses, property allocations, and biweekly paycheck.

• Oversee debt activities, which includes arranging for regular principal and interest payments, keeping track of debt and interest rollovers, and drafting and approving construction loan draws.

• Oversee the coordination of several annual financial statement audits and guarantee the correctness and completeness of the company's annual financial closure.

• Prepare quarterly debt compliance certifications, consolidated financial statements, footnotes, and other reporting requirements.

• Manage the timely and correct creation and delivery of additional periodic financial reports and analysis to the ownership, management, and business partners of the company.

• Write technical accounting memos to record financing activities, acquisitions, and dispositions pertaining to real estate, and be well-versed in the new lease standard (ASC 842).

• Take part in the yearly budgeting process and submit supporting payroll, interest, and intercompany agreement schedules.

• Lead and provide indirect supervision to members of the accounting team.

• Uphold, oversee, and improve internal control rules and practices across the entire organisation.

• Participate in projects as assigned and offer ad hoc analytical support as needed.

• Keep in regular contact with the management team and other members of the business unit.

• Effectively assist the vice president of accounting.


Job Requirements and Preferred Qualifications:


• A minimum of seven plus years of progressive accounting-related experience in a growing real estate industry

• Bachelor's degree in accounting is required; CPA designation is required

• Strong preference for Big Four and public firm experience as well as data centre experience

• Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and organisational abilities; strong communication skills; ability to articulate complex analysis and solutions with confidence; attention to detail in problem-solving; experience working both independently and collaboratively; ability to manage priorities while fulfilling strict deadlines

• Possess the following qualities: highest ethical and professional conduct and integrity; ability to work cross-functionally with ease; proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and adherence to all rules and expectations outlined in the company's corporate handbook.
