Position Title: Country Manager (Data Centre)

Location: Thailand



The Role

Our client, a fast-growing data centre developer/operator with great funding and ambitions to grow, seeks a seasoned leader to take the helm of our Thailand operations. As Country Manager, you will have full accountability for their local data centre platform, driving excellence across facilities management, customer delivery, regulatory adherence, and financial performance. You will act as the senior in-country ambassador, representing the company to clients, government agencies, and industry partners.



Candidate should be from a data center technical operations background.

 



What You'll Be Doing





  • Operational Leadership: Direct all in-country activities, setting clear goals, monitoring performance through defined metrics, and ensuring the team consistently meets high standards.




  • Facility Reliability: Own the performance of our critical sites, guaranteeing 24/7 operational readiness. Oversee all maintenance regimes, risk assessments, and incident management protocols to minimise downtime.




  • Customer Engagement: Ensure local service teams deliver on all client commitments. Manage onboarding, access authorisations, and service communication to maintain strong partner relationships.




  • Financial Stewardship: Take charge of the country P&L, including budgeting, expense control, and procurement. Drive cost efficiencies while never compromising on safety or quality.




  • Compliance & Governance: Serve as the primary contact for local regulators. Ensure all statutory filings, licensing, tax obligations, and labour laws are strictly followed.




  • Security & Continuity: Lead physical security strategies and crisis response planning, including regular drills and business continuity coordination.




  • Team Building: Recruit, coach, and retain a high-calibre local workforce, fostering a culture rooted in safety, transparency, and ongoing improvement.




  • Stakeholder Reporting: Provide regular, structured updates to regional leadership on operational health, financial status, and key risks.





What We're Looking For





  • Experience: Over a decade of senior management experience, including data centre technical operations management.




  • Track Record: Demonstrated success in managing round-the-clock operations with a strong safety record and incident discipline.




  • Commercial Skills: Solid grounding in budget management, vendor negotiation, and performance reporting.




  • Regulatory Knowledge: Practical understanding of corporate compliance, tax coordination, and local contracting workflows.




  • Interpersonal Strengths: Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to manage relationships with customers, regulators, and suppliers.




  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, Law, or a related field. An MBA is advantageous.




  • Preferred Background: Familiarity with colocation environments, hyperscale clientele, or matrixed multinational organisations.
