Supply Chain Coordinator

A leading South African manufacturer of security and access automation products is looking for a Supply Chain Coordinator to join its International Business team. Why this role stands out

Most export roles only let you see one piece of the puzzle. Here, you will own the entire export cycle, from the moment an international customer places an order to the moment payment lands. You will be working for the manufacturer itself, not a forwarder or agent, so you will understand the products, know the customers, and see the direct impact of your work on the business.

You will also be the trusted right hand to an External Sales team that travels the world. While they are out opening doors in new markets, you will keep orders moving, customers informed and deals on track back at head office.

What your days will look like

• You will capture international customer orders in SAP and follow up on product allocations so that customers get what they need, when they need it.


• You will work out the most cost-effective way to move goods by sea, air or road, calculate freight rates, and help customers choose the right option.


• You will prepare export invoices and shipping documentation, and make sure every consignment meets export and trade requirements.


• You will follow orders through to payment and keep both customers and the sales team updated at every stage.


• You will solve pricing, product and technical queries for the sales team while they are on the road.


• You will turn SAP sales and customer data into clear Excel and PowerPoint reports for customers and management.


• You will build relationships with customers in many different countries, including French- and Spanish-speaking markets, with translation tools on hand to help.


• You may have the opportunity to travel occasionally to support trade shows, training, installations and after-sales support.

Who will thrive here

• You have a tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics or International Trade.


• You have hands-on experience in export coordination, export administration or a similar role, ideally in a manufacturing environment.


• You understand the full order-to-cash process and have captured orders and invoices in an ERP system. SAP experience will give you a head start.


• You know your way around Incoterms 2020, export documentation and trade agreements.


• You are organised, meticulous and calm under pressure, and you take pride in getting the details right.


• You communicate clearly and confidently, and you are comfortable with Excel and PowerPoint.
