Strategic Sourcing Manager – Manufacturing | Post Falls, ID or Remote US
About the Role
A leading global manufacturer with a long history of delivering highly reliable technology solutions is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager to join its Post Falls, ID operation. In this key role, you will drive long-term supplier strategy, strengthen supply chain performance, and support company-wide cost optimization initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the full supplier lifecycle, including identification, qualification, and onboarding.
- Negotiate and structure supply agreements, ensuring clear documentation and alignment with business goals.
- Analyze commodity trends, evaluate spend data, and implement strategic cost-reduction initiatives.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to assess alternative materials, suppliers, and manufacturing processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve product utilization while maintaining high standards of quality and reliability.
- Monitor supplier performance through KPIs and proactively manage supplier risk.
- Ensure suppliers meet all regulatory, quality, environmental, and ESG requirements.
- Conduct supplier visits and routine audits to ensure alignment with contractual terms and continuous improvement expectations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of supply chain or sourcing experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking capabilities.
- Ability to operate independently, prioritize effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to engage suppliers.
