Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on solar PV systems, including modules, inverters, and balance of system components.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in electrical systems, wiring, and monitoring equipment to reduce downtime and maximise system performance.
- Perform thermal imaging and system performance testing to identify underperforming assets and take corrective action.
- Lead on-site interventions, including system reconfiguration, repairs, and component replacements in line with health and safety regulations.
- Monitor and analyse system data using remote monitoring platforms to anticipate potential issues and enhance energy production.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and reporting in accordance with industry and client standards.
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards during all maintenance operations.
- Stay informed about evolving technologies, regulations, and best practices within the solar industry.
Candidate Profile:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in solar PV maintenance, preferably within the Commercial & Industrial (C&I) sector.
- Proven expertise in troubleshooting and maintaining large-scale solar PV installations.
- Proficiency with solar monitoring platforms and performance analysis tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across internal teams and external contractors.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a passion for sustainability and innovation.
- A valid South African driving licence is required.
