About the Role

A leading technology organisation (client name confidential) is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer – NetApp to join a high-visibility datacenter transformation initiative. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with strong expertise in NetApp ONTAP, enterprise storage solutions, and datacenter infrastructure integration.

You will be responsible for implementing, configuring, and optimising NetApp AFF/FAS storage systems and ensuring seamless delivery across compute, network, and security layers.

Key Responsibilities

NetApp Implementation & Delivery

• Deploy, configure, and optimise NetApp AFF/FAS storage appliances.


• Implement ONTAP environments including clusters, SVMs, LIFs, volumes, and aggregates.


• Configure and support NAS/SAN services: NFS, CIFS/SMB, iSCSI.


• Implement SnapMirror, snapshot policies, and backup integrations.


• Perform end-to-end data and storage migrations using native NetApp tools.

Infrastructure & Virtualization Integration

• Integrate NetApp storage with VMware or Nutanix environments.


• Support integration with large-scale enterprise or government platforms.


• Conduct performance tuning, optimisation, and proactive monitoring.

Troubleshooting & Technical Support

• Handle complex incidents related to NetApp systems and services.


• Perform RCA, deliver long-term technical fixes, and maintain strong documentation (SOPs, runbooks, architecture notes).

Security & Compliance

• Apply best practices for storage security and hardening.


• Ensure alignment with compliance frameworks (ISO, SOC, GDPR).

Required Experience

• 5+ years hands-on experience with NetApp ONTAP implementations.


• Proven experience deploying NetApp appliances in enterprise datacenter environments.


• Strong understanding of FC, iSCSI, replication, and data protection.


• Experience working in project-driven delivery teams.


• Strong ability to manage complex integrations end to end.

Technical Skills

• NetApp ONTAP (CLI & System Manager)


• NetApp AFF/FAS platforms


• SnapMirror, SnapVault, Snapshot policies


• NFS/SMB services


• VMware storage integration (VSC, NFS datastores, iSCSI)


• Experience with backup tools (Veeam, CommVault, etc.)


• Good understanding of networking & security fundamentals
