Senior Design Engineer — Electrical (Mission-Critical Power Systems)

My Client is a specialist engineering organization delivering mission-critical power and infrastructure solutions for data centers and large-scale industrial facilities across Asia. their expertise covers backup power systems, electrical distribution, and high-availability infrastructure design and commissioning. they are expanding their Singaporean team to support growing regional projects in critical environments.

About the Role

We are hiring a Senior Electrical Design Engineer specializing in mission-critical power systems for data center and large-scale infrastructure projects.

This is not a standard electrical design role — it involves designing high-availability backup power architectures where system failure is not an option.

You will be responsible for designing integrated systems involving:

• Generator sets (standby and prime power systems)
• UPS systems
• Switchgear and ATS integration
• Redundant power architectures (N+1 / 2N)

Key Responsibilities

• Design MV/LV power distribution systems (up to 33kV / 1kV)
• Perform generator sizing, load calculations, and transient analysis
• Design synchronization systems for multiple gensets (load sharing, paralleling)
• Develop protection relay settings (OC, earth fault, differential)
• Design data center backup architectures aligned with Tier III/IV standards
• Ensure compliance with:
  • SS 638 / SS 530 (Singapore standards)
  • NFPA 110
  • Uptime Institute guidelines
  
  

 Required Experience

• Strong experience in electrical power systems design
• Knowledge of gensets (Kohler / Rehlko / Cummins / CAT / MTU preferred)
• Data center or critical infrastructure experience preferred
• Understanding of UPS integration and redundancy design

 Language Requirement

• English + Mandarin Chinese (MANDATORY)
