Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) Consultant to join an active S/4HANA programme. The successful candidate will bring proven functional expertise in SAP PM configuration and implementation, with a specific focus on preventive and corrective maintenance processes within a complex, asset-intensive environment. This role sits within the Supply Chain Management workstream and requires strong integration capability across MM and Asset Management, with the ability to engage directly with maintenance and operations stakeholders to translate business requirements into a working SAP solution.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and implement SAP PM solutions within an S/4HANA landscape, covering the full functional scope of plant maintenance processes


• Configure and manage work orders across all maintenance order types — preventive, corrective, predictive, and emergency


• Set up and maintain notification management processes, including notification types, priority schema, and response workflows


• Design and configure preventive maintenance plans, task lists, maintenance strategies, and scheduling parameters


• Configure technical object structures including Functional Locations, Equipment Masters, and associated classification hierarchies


• Ensure seamless integration between PM, MM (purchasing, inventory, goods movements), and Asset Accounting (AM) to support end-to-end maintenance cost flows


• Conduct fit-gap analysis, prepare functional specifications, and translate business maintenance requirements into SAP PM configuration


• Support UAT, defect resolution, cutover planning, and knowledge transfer to client teams


• Produce and maintain configuration documentation, functional design documents, and end-user training materials

Required Experience & Skills

• Proven track record as an SAP PM functional consultant with at least one full-cycle S/4HANA implementation


• Deep expertise in work order management — planned, unplanned, and refurbishment orders — across the full order lifecycle from creation through technical and business completion


• Strong configuration experience in preventive maintenance — maintenance plans, strategies, task lists, and scheduling


• Solid understanding of corrective maintenance processes including breakdown notifications, damage and cause coding, and emergency response workflows


• Hands-on experience integrating PM with MM for material procurement, stock and non-stock components, and goods issue processes


• Familiarity with PM-AM integration for asset capitalisation, settlement of maintenance costs to assets, and asset under construction handling


• Experience with measurement documents, counter management, and condition-based maintenance where applicable


• Ability to engage with plant engineers, maintenance managers, and finance teams simultaneously

Advantageous

• Experience in asset-intensive industries: mining, energy, utilities, oil and gas, or manufacturing


• Exposure to S/4HANA PM-specific enhancements including the new Maintenance Management Fiori apps


• Familiarity with SAM (Service Asset Management) or EAM (Enterprise Asset Management) frameworks


• Portuguese language proficiency (must be stated explicitly on CV or covering note if applicable)
