Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced SAP Finance (FI) Consultant to join an active S/4HANA programme. The successful candidate will bring proven functional expertise in SAP FI configuration and implementation, with deep hands-on experience across General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Bank Accounting within an S/4HANA Finance environment. This role sits within the Finance workstream and requires strong cross-module integration capability, particularly across CO and adjacent modules, with the ability to engage directly with finance stakeholders to translate business requirements into a robust and compliant SAP Finance solution.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and implement SAP FI solutions within an S/4HANA Finance landscape, covering the full functional scope of financial accounting processes


• Configure and manage General Ledger accounting including chart of accounts, account groups, document types, posting keys, and fiscal year variants within the Universal Journal framework


• Design and configure Accounts Payable processes including vendor master data, payment terms, automatic payment programmes, dunning, and vendor reconciliation


• Design and configure Accounts Receivable processes including customer master data, credit management, incoming payment processing, and customer reconciliation


• Configure Bank Accounting including house banks, bank account management, electronic bank statement processing, and payment file configuration


• Ensure seamless integration between FI sub-ledgers, Asset Accounting, Controlling, and Materials Management to support end-to-end financial process flows


• Conduct fit-gap analysis, prepare functional specifications, and translate business finance requirements into SAP FI configuration


• Support period-end and year-end closing activities including foreign currency valuation, GR/IR clearing, and financial statement preparation


• Support UAT, defect resolution, cutover planning, and knowledge transfer to client finance teams


• Produce and maintain configuration documentation, functional design documents, and end-user training materials

Required Experience & Skills

• Proven track record as an SAP FI functional consultant with at least one full-cycle S/4HANA Finance implementation


• Deep expertise in General Ledger configuration within S/4HANA - Universal Journal, document splitting, ledger configuration, and New GL functionality


• Strong AP configuration experience: payment programme setup, automatic clearing, down payment processing, and withholding tax


• Strong AR configuration experience - credit management, dunning programme setup, lockbox processing, and revenue recognition where applicable


• Solid Bank Accounting capability - electronic bank statement configuration, manual bank statement processing, and cash journal setup


• Understanding of S/4HANA Finance simplifications and their impact on FI configuration relative to ECC


• Integration experience across FI-CO, FI-MM (logistics invoice verification), FI-AA (asset accounting), and FI-SD where applicable


• Ability to engage directly with CFOs, financial controllers, and finance operations teams
