Sales Director – Telecommunications (Canada)



Overview



A global technology solutions provider is seeking an experienced Sales Director to lead growth across the Canadian telecommunications market. This role is responsible for driving direct and indirect sales of a comprehensive portfolio of network infrastructure and protection solutions into Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 service providers.



The successful candidate will combine strategic account leadership with hands-on business development, enabling expansion through both direct customer engagement and partner/channel ecosystems.





Key Responsibilities



Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth




  • Develop and execute a national go-to-market strategy covering major and regional service providers across Canada

  • Own and deliver annual revenue targets, pipeline development, and long-term growth plans

  • Identify and convert new business opportunities while expanding existing footprint within key accounts

  • Drive adoption of a broad infrastructure solutions portfolio aligned with carrier network evolution



Account Management (Tier 1/2/3 Providers)




  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with technical and commercial stakeholders

  • Position solutions that address network performance, resiliency, and scalability requirements

  • Manage complex sales cycles, including RFIs/RFPs, contract negotiations, and pricing strategies

  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers on network modernization initiatives



Channel & Partner Development




  • Develop and manage indirect sales channels, including distributors, integrators, and strategic partners

  • Enable partners with training, tools, and joint go-to-market initiatives

  • Establish partner strategies to penetrate underserved regions and accounts

  • Drive alignment between direct and partner-led sales motions



Market Leadership




  • Monitor Canadian telecom market trends, regulatory dynamics, and competitive landscape

  • Provide feedback to internal stakeholders on customer requirements and market opportunities

  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and customer forums



Cross-Functional Collaboration




  • Partner with product management, engineering, and operations to align solutions with customer needs

  • Collaborate with global teams on pricing, proposals, and strategic initiatives

  • Support forecasting, reporting, and executive updates





Qualifications & Experience




  • 10+ years of sales experience within telecommunications, network infrastructure, or related sectors

  • Proven track record of selling into Canadian Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 service providers

  • Strong understanding of carrier network environments (wireline, wireless, fiber, data center, or edge infrastructure)

  • Demonstrated success managing both direct enterprise sales and indirect/channel partnerships

  • Experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles with long deal timelines

  • Established relationships within the Canadian telecom ecosystem are highly desirable
