About the Opportunity
We are recruiting a senior regional leader to drive operational excellence and growth across West Africa for a major transport technology and infrastructure business. This is a rare leadership role with full regional accountability for delivery, commercial performance, and client relationships across multiple high-value projects. You will play a pivotal role in shaping regional strategy, driving execution, and expanding market presence in a fast-growing and dynamic environment.
Role Purpose
The Regional Manager – West Africa will provide full operational, commercial, and financial leadership for the region. You will ensure successful delivery of large-scale contracts, manage profitability and cash flow, safeguard client relationships, and drive continuous performance improvement. You will act as the senior operational representative in West Africa and contribute directly to regional growth and strategic direction.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Leadership & Delivery
- Lead delivery across multiple projects to ensure safe, on-time, on-budget, and high-quality execution
- Proactively identify risks and issues and implement corrective actions
- Maintain compliance with safety and technical standards
2. Commercial & Financial Management
- Full accountability for regional contract profitability and cost control
- Manage invoicing, payment milestones, and collections
- Oversee subcontractor payments and financial approvals
3. Subcontractor & Supplier Management
- Select, manage, and evaluate subcontractors and delivery partners
- Monitor performance and implement improvements where needed
- Resolve disputes and non-performance issues
4. Team & Resource Management
- Build and lead local delivery teams, support staff, and subcontractors
- Ensure capability, capacity, and performance across the region
- Lead workforce planning, coaching, and performance management
5. Client & Stakeholder Management
- Build strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders
- Ensure clear communication and effective issue resolution
- Manage contractual and commercial interactions
6. Growth & Business Development Support
- Support regional growth initiatives and bid strategy
- Provide operational insight, market intelligence, and risk assessment
- Identify opportunities for new business and contract extensions
7. Governance & Risk Management
- Manage operational, financial, and commercial risks
- Ensure compliance with governance and reporting requirements
- Provide regular performance and financial reporting to senior leadership
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Transport, Business Management, or related field (preferred)
- 8–10+ years’ experience in regional or operations leadership
- Proven track record managing large contracts and multiple subcontractors
- Strong experience operating in Africa, preferably West Africa

Travel Requirements
