Radio Access Network Engineer

We’re hiring on behalf of a leading global telecom partner for a long-term 5G network optimization project in Africa. The role focuses on driving 5G performance and service quality across the country, making it ideal for experienced engineers ready to take on a high-impact technical challenge. Fluency in Portuguese is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead 5G and legacy (2G/3G/4G/VoLTE) network optimization and performance improvement activities.
• Conduct network audits, KPI tuning, and drive test analysis to identify and resolve performance gaps.
• Deliver pre/post network assessments and coverage reports.
• Ensure database consistency, anomaly detection, and issue resolution in multi-vendor environments.
• Collaborate closely with client teams to align deliverables with performance and quality targets.
• Support global operator networks and participate in periodic on-site assignments.

Requirements:

• 10+ years’ experience in Radio Access Network (RAN) Engineering across Ericsson and Huawei platforms.
• Proven track record in 5G optimization, RCA, and network performance management.
• Proficiency in Atoll, MapInfo, OSS, and other network performance tools.
• Strong understanding of KPIs, raw counters, and logical network configurations.
• Degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Fluent in Portuguese; Plus English proficiency is an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Vendor certifications (Ericsson, Huawei).
• Hands-on experience in planning, optimization, troubleshooting, and reporting.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and presentation skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly to new projects and environments.
