About the Role

We are looking for a Packet Core Engineer to join a major telecom project in Cairo, supporting 4G/5G core network operations. The role involves troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and supporting data services across a live network environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide L1/L2 support for Packet Core (EPC / 5G Core) network elements
• Troubleshoot data connectivity issues, session failures, and KPI degradation
• Analyze signaling (GTP, Diameter) and perform trace analysis
• Monitor system performance, alarms, and capacity
• Support configuration, testing, upgrades, and patching activities
• Execute health checks and support daily network operations
• Collaborate with teams on incident resolution and performance optimization

Requirements

• Hands-on experience in Packet Core / EPC / 4G / 5G networks
• Hands-on experience with: MME, SGW, PGW or AMF, SMF, UPF,GTP, Diameter, and IP networking fundamentals
• Strong understanding of: Attach, session management, handover procedures, KPI analysis and troubleshooting
• Experience with trace tools (e.g., Wireshark)
• Familiarity with ITIL processes
• Good communication skills in English

Experience with Huawei Packet Core / EPC / 5G Core systems is highly recommended
