Subsea Project Manager – Contract (3 Months, Immediate Start)

We are seeking an experienced Subsea Project Manager to provide short-term cover on a global deep cable network (DCN) programme. This is an initial 3-month contract with the potential for extension. The role will be home-based but will require occasional international travel.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of subsea projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to agreed standards. You will manage all aspects of project assurance, operational governance, and stakeholder engagement, from suppliers to senior-level customer representatives.

A key focus will be managing DCN equipment logistics, including negotiating and coordinating the import of specialist kit into different countries, as well as navigating the complexities of working with Cable Landing Station (CLS) operators on the dry side. The role requires strong stakeholder management skills, both upwards with demanding clients and downwards across delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure successful delivery of projects to agreed cost, time, and quality targets.

  • Establish and manage governance frameworks including reporting, risk, and change management.

  • Define, track, and deliver project milestones in line with contractual commitments.

  • Liaise with CLS operators, main in-country stakeholders, and global customers to align objectives.

  • Manage subcontractors and supply chain relationships to ensure smooth delivery.

  • Support business development by identifying and assessing opportunities for extending services.

  • Maintain customer satisfaction through strong programme governance and proactive engagement.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven project management expertise, ideally with PPM/Prince2 or equivalent accreditation.

  • Extensive experience in service delivery within subsea or telecoms infrastructure projects.

  • Strong understanding of DCN kit logistics and the challenges of moving equipment internationally.

  • Familiarity with Cable Landing Stations (dry side) and working with in-country operators.

  • Financial awareness with experience managing project budgets and costs.

  • Excellent stakeholder management, including C-suite engagement.

  • A strong leader who can manage upwards and downwards effectively under pressure.

Working Environment

  • Home-based with flexibility to travel internationally.

  • Working directly with customers, suppliers, and delivery teams across multiple geographies.
