Our client, a fast-growing data centre company, is looking for a regional data centre project manager based in Singapore.
Job Title: Regional Data centre project manager
Job Purpose
This role serves as the central coordination point for end-to-end product delivery on large-scale data centre projects across the region. The position is responsible for bridging client requirements with on-site execution, ensuring that solutions are technically sound and operationally deliverable. The role involves overseeing and monitoring the work of appointed vendors and subcontractors, with accountability for delivery planning, milestone achievement, and final handover. This is a supervisory and coordination role only—the post-holder does not perform physical installation, commissioning, maintenance, or hands-on operational work.
Key Responsibilities
On-Site Delivery Coordination
Coordinate all post-arrival activities for equipment and materials, including scheduling, resource planning, and oversight of vendor-performed lifting, installation, and testing activities. Allocate resources across vendor teams and escalate issues as needed.
Site Meeting Participation
Represent the delivery function in daily and weekly on-site meetings, ensuring alignment on progress, priorities, and problem-solving among all stakeholders.
Equipment Inspection Support
Attend key equipment unpacking and receipt inspections to verify compliance with specifications and identify any visible damage or discrepancies upon arrival.
Vendor Coordination for System Testing (Stages 2–5)
Coordinate equipment vendors and subcontractors to support system testing and commissioning from intermediate through final integrated stages. Ensure resources are mobilized on schedule. Testing is performed by qualified vendors; the role involves coordination, oversight, and attendance—not hands-on testing.
Damage Documentation & Reporting
Document and report any equipment damage or non-conformance with photographic evidence, ensuring timely escalation in line with project protocols.
Progress & Issue Reporting
Provide regular status updates to headquarters on site progress, key milestones, risks, and critical issues. Ensure transparent and timely escalation of matters affecting delivery timelines.
Post-Project Review & Continuous Improvement
Collect and analyze delivery issues, prepare post-project reports, and lead lessons-learned sessions to drive knowledge retention and process improvement.
