Position: Project Analyst

Location: Western Cape/ Gauteng 

Type: Permanent 


We are looking for a highly organised and driven Project Analyst to help ensure the smooth delivery of IT and business-related projects. This opportunity is perfect for someone who excels in fast-paced settings, enjoys working collaboratively across teams, and is passionate about maintaining strong project governance, coordination, and execution standards.


Purpose of the Role

  • To assist project managers with the implementation, oversight, and governance of business and IT projects.


Main Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update project plans to reflect current progress, upcoming milestones, resource allocations, and interdependencies, helping ensure projects remain on track.
  • Manage RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) to provide visibility into potential project challenges and support timely resolution.
  • Support status reporting by gathering inputs from different teams, consolidating progress updates, and preparing regular reports and dashboards for project stakeholders.
  • Facilitate project meetings by scheduling sessions, preparing agendas, capturing meeting minutes, and following up on action items to support continuity and accountability.
  • Monitor project budgets and forecasts, tracking actual versus planned spend, identifying variances, and collaborating with project managers to maintain financial control.
  • Track project timelines and deadlines, ensuring that key deliverables are progressing according to the project schedule and highlighting any delays or risks to delivery.


Qualifications

  • A BCom or BSc degree.
  • 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in project coordination.


Key Skills & Competencies

  • Software proficiency: Skilled in using Microsoft Project for planning and scheduling, SharePoint for document management and collaboration, and Microsoft Excel for reporting and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of project methodologies: Awareness of formal project management frameworks such as PMI (Project Management Institute standards) or PRINCE2.
  • Communication and stakeholder management: Ability to interact confidently with diverse stakeholders, ensuring alignment and clarity across project teams.
