A leading, fast-growing engineering consultancy specialising in hyperscale data centres and mission-critical infrastructure is seeking an experienced Principal Structural Engineer

 to join its expanding team.

Principal Structural Engineer will lead structural and civil engineering design activities across data centre infrastructure projects. n this role, you will lead technical direction, oversee the production and quality of engineering outputs, and work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project execution in accordance with international standards and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead structural and civil engineering design for data centre projects from concept through to completion


• Manage design deliverables including calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports


• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineering teams


• Design and coordinate structural systems including foundations, steel, and reinforced concrete structures


• Oversee civil works such as site development, drainage, roads, and external infrastructure


• Coordinate with architectural, MEP, and BIM teams for integrated project delivery


• Review submissions, shop drawings, and technical documentation for compliance


• Ensure designs meet international standards and local regulations


• Conduct site inspections and support construction phase activities


• Maintain quality, safety, and project timelines

Requirements

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering


• 6–10+ years’ experience in structural and civil engineering, including leadership responsibilities


• Experience in data centres, industrial, or large-scale infrastructure projects


• Strong knowledge of international design standards (Eurocodes, ACI, BS)


• Proficiency in ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD, SAFE, AutoCAD, and Revit


• Experience working within BIM and multidisciplinary environments


• Professional certification (PE, CEng, or equivalent) is an advantage

Desirable Experience

• Data centre or mission-critical project experience


• Knowledge of heavy structural systems and equipment foundations


• Experience working with contractors, consultants, and client teams


• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities


• Understanding of sustainable design and modern construction methods
