The Role

We are looking for a Principal Delivery Engineer to act as a key technical authority within the delivery team, overseeing engineering design on live data centre projects at the Frankfurt campus. This role sits at the intersection of engineering design and project delivery, ideal for someone who is comfortable challenging consultant designs, influencing senior stakeholders, and driving technical excellence on complex, large-scale builds.

What you will be doing

• Reviewing, interrogating, and challenging consultant and contractor design information across mechanical, electrical, and critical systems


• Ensuring designs meet resilience, efficiency, and cost optimisation objectives, with particular focus on eliminating single points of failure


• Supporting project delivery across all phases, including design, installation review, and commissioning


• Resolving complex engineering challenges across power and cooling infrastructure in a live environment


• Maintaining design risk registers and ensuring risks are identified, tracked, and mitigated


• Coordinating with local authorities and ensuring compliance with permitting and regulatory requirements


• Leading the review of operations and maintenance documentation and supporting full handover to operations teams


• Collaborating with engineering teams across international campuses to share best practice and lessons learned

What you will bring

• Strong MEP design and delivery experience within data centres or comparable mission-critical environments


• A proven ability to review and challenge external consultant designs across power and cooling systems


• Deep understanding of data centre infrastructure including electrical distribution, cooling systems, and resilience design principles (N+1, 2N)


• Knowledge of design parameters and efficiency metrics such as PUE


• Experience across both design and delivery phases, including installation and commissioning exposure


• A background from data centre operators, engineering consultancies, or contractor/EPC design teams


• A relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification


• Strong analytical skills and the ability to resolve complex engineering challenges in live environments

Nice to have

• Uptime Accredited Tier Designer certification


• Chartered Engineer status or working towards professional accreditation


• Experience with CFD modelling and thermal analysis


• Full lifecycle exposure across MEPCSAT design


• Knowledge of permitting processes and regulatory frameworks in data centre design
