Role Overview
The Technical Sales/ Presales Specialist – IBM Automation Portfolio drives the promotion and technical positioning of IBM’s automation solutions, including BAW, ODM, FileNet, Datacap, API Connect, ACE, MQ, and DataPower. The role focuses on helping clients modernize workflows, automate decisions, and integrate applications across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. By aligning IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation and Cloud Pak for Integration with customer needs, the specialist enables organizations to streamline operations, enhance data flow, and accelerate digital transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- 10+ years of experience in designing and building software solutions.
- 4+ years of experience in technical sales.
- Ability to create and evaluate scopes of work and software Bills of Quantities (BoQs).
- Proven track record in generating successful technical proposals.
- Strong understanding of the value of IBM Cloud Paks, automation, and integration value propositions.
- Hands-on experience with IBM Business Automation tools such as IBM BAW, ODM, FileNet, Datacap.
- Practical experience with integration platforms such as IBM ACE, API Connect, MQ, DataPower, WebMethods.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes or Red Hat OpenShift.
- Understanding of architecture styles like SOA, microservices, and cloud-native architecture.
- Experience designing stream-based applications using Kafka or Confluent.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering, Computer Science, Data, or Information Technology.
Key Competencies
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain concepts clearly and translate client insights to internal teams.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders effectively.
