Solutions Architect

First Point Group  European Union (Remote)

About the Role

The Solution Architect is responsible for defining, governing, and evolving end-to-end technical architectures for complex OSS-centric solutions in telecommunications environments. The role focuses on translating business and operational requirements into scalable, secure, cloud-native architectures, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture principles and industry standards.

You will operate across OSS, network domains, and IT platforms, providing architectural leadership from solution design through implementation and lifecycle management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define end-to-end solution architectures across application, integration, data, and infrastructure layers.

  • Design logical, physical, and deployment architectures aligned with enterprise standards and target-state roadmaps.

  • Produce and maintain architecture artefacts, including HLDs, LLDs, interface contracts, data models, and Architecture Decision Records (ADRs).

  • Ensure alignment with enterprise and solution architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF, ArchiMate).

  • Define and enforce architectural standards, design patterns, and best practices.

  • Perform architectural assessments to identify technical debt, risks, and improvement opportunities.

  • Provide architectural governance and technical leadership to development teams and system integrators.

  • Evaluate non-functional requirements (availability, performance, scalability, resiliency, security) and ensure they are embedded in solution designs.

  • Assess architectural trade-offs and their impact on cost, operability, time-to-market, and business outcomes.

  • Ensure seamless integration of new components within existing OSS, BSS, and network ecosystems.

Technical Requirements

  • Strong understanding of telecommunications operating models and end-to-end service lifecycles.

  • Extensive experience designing OSS architectures aligned with TM Forum standards (e.g. eTOM, SID, Open APIs).

  • In-depth knowledge of OSS functional domains:

  • Fault, Performance, and Service Assurance

  • Configuration, Inventory, and Topology

  • Planning, Provisioning, and Service Readiness

  • Experience integrating OSS platforms with network domains such as RAN, Mobile Core (5G/IMS), Transport, IP Core, and service platforms (e.g. TV, SIP).

  • Solid understanding of event-driven, API-first, and domain-driven architecture patterns.

  • Strong experience with microservices architectures, including containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Experience with cloud and hybrid infrastructures (AWS, Azure, GCP, private cloud).

  • Knowledge of integration technologies such as REST, gRPC, Kafka, AMQP, and message brokers.

  • Experience with automation and orchestration frameworks (e.g. Kubernetes operators, Ansible, Terraform).

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

  • Strong background in software engineering and large-scale system integration.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience delivering complex, multi-vendor, large-scale OSS solutions.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to model complex systems and assess architectural trade-offs.

  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to architects, engineers, and senior stakeholders.

  • Experience working in agile, SAFe, or hybrid delivery models.

  • Technical leadership or project architecture experience is highly desirable.

Personal Attributes

  • Ability to operate effectively across multiple technical domains and organisational boundaries.

  • Strong collaboration skills combined with autonomy and ownership.

  • Willingness to engage in international projects and travel when required.

  • Clear, structured, and high-quality technical documentation skills.
