Network Operations Engineer

FPG is looking for a Core Network Engineer, you will own the resolution of complex network issues, particularly involving SS7, Diameter, S6a signalling, VoLTE, SMS, and CS voice. Your role will focus on proactive monitoring, technical analysis, and using diagnostic tools to resolve network attach failures, data session issues, and performance inconsistencies in roaming scenarios.

Responsibilities:

• Support the launch of new services, ensuring technical and performance standards.


• Collaborate with vendors for timely delivery and optimal service performance.


• Proactively monitor and resolve issues, focusing on 3G/LTE attach failures and data session setups in roaming scenarios.


• Partner with internal teams and customers to resolve service-impacting issues.


• Conduct deep investigations using protocol analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark).


• Work with MNO partners to facilitate smooth service deployments.


• Mentor team members on signalling protocols and troubleshooting techniques.


• Perform scheduled network maintenance activities, including upgrades.


• Lead incident resolution efforts, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.


• Refine troubleshooting processes and document incident lessons.


• Enforce change, release, incident, and problem management processes.

Requirements:

• 4+ years’ experience in the core network domain.


• Strong knowledge of SS7 and Diameter protocols.


• Experience with VoLTE, IMS, and CS voice troubleshooting.


• Understanding of SMS signaling and mobile roaming solutions.


• Proficiency in protocol analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark).


• Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix, SolarWinds).


• Strong documentation skills for incident and root cause analysis.
