Position Overview
We seek a highly driven Senior Salesperson to expand our footprint within the U.S. data center construction ecosystem. This individual will focus on identifying, developing, and closing opportunities for low-voltage power distribution solutions, including (but not limited to) switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, surge protection, and related power infrastructure products.
The ideal candidate brings strong relationships with general contractors (GCs), construction management firms, developers, and design-build partners who actively build data centers across the United States. This is a senior-level, business-critical position requiring consultative selling, strategic account development, and strong technical understanding of power distribution within mission-critical environments.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales Execution
- Identify, target, and engage GCs, construction companies, EPCs, and developers specializing in data center projects.
- Build and manage a robust pipeline for low-voltage power distribution and switchgear solutions.
- Drive the full sales cycle: prospecting → technical consultation → proposal development → contract negotiation → close.
- Position solutions effectively against competitors through value-based, solution-driven selling.
Account Management & Relationship Building
- Develop deep, long-term relationships with key stakeholders including project executives, procurement teams, electrical contractors, and design engineers.
- Maintain ongoing communication with accounts to understand project timelines, needs, and decision-making structures.
- Serve as a strategic partner, ensuring THE COMPNAY is specified early in project lifecycle.
Technical & Market Expertise
- Understand technical requirements around low-voltage switchgear, distribution gear, power quality, and mission-critical electrical infrastructure.
- Stay informed about data center construction trends, market activity, and technology changes related to power distribution.
- Provide client feedback to internal engineering and product teams to support product enhancements.
Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with Sales Engineering, Product Management, Operations, and Leadership to ensure accurate proposals and high-quality project execution.
- Collaborate with marketing and leadership teams to target new development regions and customer segments.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of sales experience in electrical distribution, switchgear, power systems, or mission-critical infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of data center construction workflows and the roles of GCs, EPCs, MEPs, and developers.
- Proven track record selling to large general contractors and developers.
- Ability to read electrical drawings, one-lines, and project specifications.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and strategic relationship-building skills.
- Willingness to travel nationally as needed (approx. 30%).
