DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the engineering design and execution for new greenfield developments and brownfield adaptation projects.
Manage and coordinate complex remodeling initiatives within live operational environments, including the deployment of new capacity into existing technical floors.
Direct internal teams and external consultant engineers to produce comprehensive concept designs, feasibility studies, and detailed technical prospectuses.
Oversee and validate the work of lead design consultants to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance of all mechanical designs, drawings, and technical documentation.
Drive the approval process by adhering to internal governance frameworks and developing new procedural standards where gaps exist.
Act as the primary technical authority for resolving complex design discrepancies and on-site construction challenges.
Perform rigorous cross-discipline checks (including structural, electrical, and architectural interfaces) to ensure integrated and conflict-free designs.
Maintain meticulous version control and documentation management across all project phases.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related technical field. (Master’s degree or professional chartership preferred).
Core Competencies & Behavioral Skills:
Deep Technical Expertise: Substantial hands-on experience in greenfield design, live facility modifications, maintenance operations, testing & commissioning (T&C), and MEP work phasing/logistics.
Broad Multi-disciplinary Knowledge: Strong working understanding of interfacing disciplines, including electrical distribution, telecommunications, structural engineering, architectural finishes, cost estimation, and construction/project management.
Proven Leadership: Demonstrated success in leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams to deliver complex, high-stakes projects on time and within budget.
Resilience & Agility: Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment; adept at managing competing priorities with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
Client Engagement: Confident and articulate in presenting technical solutions to executive stakeholders and external clients.
Sustainability Focus: In-depth knowledge of the latest industry trends in high-efficiency cooling systems, with a strong emphasis on sustainable design and reducing environmental impact.
Operational Awareness: Experience working within live critical environments (e.g., data centers, banking facilities, or other 24/7 mission-critical operations) is a distinct advantage.
Mobility: Willingness and ability to travel regionally as required by project demands.
