Role Overview
The Legal Director will lead all legal, regulatory, and compliance matters for a Singapore-based data centre operator. This strategic leadership role supports the company's Singapore and regional (APAC) operations, covering data centre development, construction, leasing/colocation contracts, procurement, technology infrastructure, and cross-border regulatory obligations. Key Responsibilities
1. Commercial & Technology Contracts
Lead drafting, review, and negotiation of key commercial agreements including colocation agreements, master service agreements, infrastructure leasing, vendor/supplier contracts, GPU/data-infrastructure procurement, and hyperscaler or enterprise customer agreements. [mycareersf…ure.gov.sg]
Structure complex contracts and transaction frameworks to support large-scale data centre deployments while mitigating legal and operational risks. [sg.clickajobs.com]
2. Data Centre Regulatory & Compliance Oversight
Advise senior management on legal and regulatory requirements relevant to data centre operations, including Singapore's PDPA (privacy), cybersecurity, construction regulatory compliance, energy-related regulations, and cross-border data transfer obligations. [mycareersf…ure.gov.sg]
Support compliance frameworks, corporate governance procedures, internal policies, and regulatory audits to ensure operational adherence in Singapore and across Southeast Asia. [sg.clickajobs.com]
3. Corporate, Real Estate & Development Legal Support
Provide legal guidance on data centre development, including land acquisition, construction contracts, project and construction management agreements, and dealings with utilities and telecom regulators. [sg.clickajobs.com]
Partner with engineering, design, and project teams to ensure facility development and expansion meet regulatory standards and contractual protections.
4. Risk Management & Cross-Border Legal Support
Identify legal risks across multi-country operations (e.g., Malaysia, US, APAC jurisdictions) and support global expansion by advising on cross-border commercial and regulatory matters. [mycareersf…ure.gov.sg]
Oversee dispute management, external counsel engagement, and litigation strategy when required.
5. Executive Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
Serve as strategic legal adviser to the C-suite, data-centre operations leaders, commercial teams, and technical leads.

Drive legal operations maturity, including templates, playbooks, compliance training, and internal controls.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
LL.B or JD from a recognised institution; admitted to practice law in Singapore.
7–12+ years PQE, with strong grounding in corporate/commercial law, preferably gained from top law firms or in-house roles in technology, telecommunications, digital infrastructure, or cloud services sectors. [mycareersf…ure.gov.sg], [sg.clickajobs.com]
