Lead Presales Consultant - Fibre Broadband
- Depending on experience + uncapped commission
- United Kingdom, UK
- Permanent
Are you a Technical Pre-Sales Solutions Consultant with recent UK experience working for a Connectivity Provider to deliver Enterprise Connectivity and/or Managed Network Services such as DIA (Dedicated Internet Access), Layer 2 (Ethernet), Layer 1 (Optical Fibre) etc? Previous working experience at an ISP (Internet Service Provider) in this capacity would be a direct match but if you have experience of working for a Connectivity Provider providing Enterprise Connectivity then we'd also love to hear from you!
This is a rare opportunity for you to utilise your experience to define the pre-sales process of an established and fast-growing Connectivity Provider following further significant funding and investment. Instead of joining an established pre-sales function, you will be the senior customer-facing pre-sales leader to spearhead the pre-sales function (combining your customer pre-sales / solution design, commercial + solution architecture experience).
This is a 100% UK remote and full-time permanent opportunity (any travel would be to meet customers).
***** PLEASE NOTE – UK sponsorship is NOT possible. Candidates must live in the UK with valid rights to work.

- We are looking for an experienced Lead Solutions Consultant / Solutions Architectto join a growing UK connectivity and network services business.
- This is a senior customer-facing pre-sales role responsible for translating complex customer requirements into technically robust and commercially viable solutions across enterprise connectivity, networking and managed services.
- Alongside supporting live sales opportunities, you will have the opportunity to help build and shape the organisation's future Solutions Architecture capability, developing the processes, methodologies, governance and design standards required to support continued growth.
- The role is particularly suited to someone who combines strong technical knowledge with commercial awareness and enjoys working directly with customers, sales teams and technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead customer discovery workshops and technical qualification activities.
- Design enterprise connectivity and network solutions aligned with customer business and technical requirements.
- Support opportunities from initial qualification and solution design through proposal, commercialisation and contract signature.
- Design solutions across both owned network infrastructure and third-party/partner networks.
- Support solutions incorporating DIA, Ethernet, optical connectivity, SD-WAN/SASE, cybersecurity, cloud connectivity and managed services.
- Identify opportunities for upsell, cross-sell and wider account development through consultative customer engagement.
- Support technical proposals, commercial modelling, tenders, bid responses and customer presentations.
- Work closely with Sales, Product, Network Engineering, Commercial, Customer Experience and Delivery teams.
- Ensure solutions are appropriately qualified and documented before operational handover.
- Develop repeatable pre-sales processes covering qualification, solution design, governance and delivery handover.
- Create and maintain solution templates, reference architectures, design standards and best-practice frameworks.
- Work with technology vendors, carriers and strategic partners where additional capability is required.
- Provide customer and market feedback to help influence future product, service and network investment decisions.
- Act as a trusted technical and commercial advisor to customers, partners and internal stakeholders.
- Help establish a scalable Solutions Architecture function, with the potential to mentor and support future team members.
Experience Required
- Strong experience within telecommunications, connectivity, networking, managed services or a related technology environment.
- Proven experience in a Pre-Sales, Solutions Architecture, Solutions Consulting or Sales Engineering capacity.
- Experience designing connectivity and network-based solutions for SME, mid-market and/or enterprise customers.
- Strong understanding of internet architecture and services.
- Experience with Layer 1/optical and Layer 2 Ethernet services.
- Understanding of SD-WAN and SASE solutions.
- Exposure to cybersecurity and secure networking solutions.
- Understanding of cloud connectivity and managed-service environments.
- Experience supporting complex sales opportunities from discovery through to contract signature.
- Ability to create high-quality technical and commercial customer proposals.
- Experience presenting solutions to both technical stakeholders and senior decision-makers.
- Experience working across technical, commercial and operational teams.
- Experience with multi-vendor and partner-led solutions.
- Understanding of direct, indirect, reseller, MSP and/or wholesale/channel models.
- Experience supporting multi-site enterprise customers would be advantageous.
- Previous experience developing or improving pre-sales processes, methodologies and standards would be highly desirable.
About You
- You will be a commercially minded and customer-focused technology professional who enjoys solving complex business problems.
- You should be comfortable challenging customer requirements, identifying needs that may not initially be obvious and translating technical concepts into clear business outcomes.
- This role will suit someone who is comfortable working within a growing environment where not every process or framework already exists. You will have the opportunity to introduce best practice, improve ways of working and play a significant role in shaping how the Solutions Architecture function develops.
You will ideally be:
- Commercially minded and outcome focused.
- Curious, pragmatic and solutions oriented.
- Confident communicating with customers and senior stakeholders.
- Comfortable operating within ambiguity.
- Proactive and ownership driven.
- Able to influence technical and commercial stakeholders.
- Passionate about customer growth and solution-led selling.
- Comfortable identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
- Interested in building processes and capabilities rather than simply following established ones.
This is an opportunity to combine hands-on customer solution design with genuine influence over the development of a growing Solutions Architecture function.
