An established healthcare-focused organisation is seeking an experienced IT Data Manager to take ownership of the full data lifecycle across the business. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys combining strategic data governance with practical execution, while working closely with both technical and business stakeholders.
You will be responsible for ensuring that organisational data is accurate, secure, compliant, and transformed into meaningful insights that support informed decision-making at executive and operational levels.
Key Responsibilities
Data Strategy & Governance
- Define, implement, and enforce data management policies, standards, and procedures
- Ensure compliance with relevant data protection and regulatory requirements
Database & Platform Management
- Design, build, and maintain enterprise databases
- Oversee data integration, migration, archiving, and backup/recovery processes
Data Quality & Integrity
- Establish controls and processes to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across systems
Security & Access Control
- Implement robust data security measures to prevent data loss or breaches
- Manage access rights and enforce security protocols
Analysis, Reporting & Insights
- Analyse complex datasets to identify trends and opportunities
- Produce reports, dashboards, and visualisations to support business intelligence
Collaboration & Enablement
- Work closely with IT, finance, marketing, and operational teams
- Train and guide internal teams on data best practices and governance standards
Technology & Vendor Management
- Evaluate, implement, and optimise data management tools, platforms, and infrastructure
- Engage with external vendors where required
Experience & Skills Required
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in data management, data architecture, or related IT leadership roles
- Strong expertise in database technologies (SQL and NoSQL)
- Proven experience with data modelling, ETL processes, and BI tools
- Solid understanding of data security principles and regulatory compliance
- Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and solutions-driven
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and leadership capabilities
