Our client, a fast-growing data centre developer, with a big appetite for growth and excellent funding, is seeking a Country Head in Indonesia.

Job Purpose
Country Head is the senior in-country leader responsible for managing the business and ensuring safe, reliable operation of the company’s data center site(s). This role carries full accountability for local execution across operations, customer service, corporate administration, compliance, and financial discipline. The GM represents the company with customers, government authorities, utilities, landlords, and vendors, while partnering closely with regional/HQ teams to maintain alignment and consistent standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Country Leadership & Business Management
- Lead the country operating model and ensure effective daily execution across all functions.
- Set priorities, operating cadence, and performance standards; drive accountability through KPIs and reviews.
- Act as the senior local representative for external engagements, safeguarding the company’s reputation.
2. Data Center Operations & Technical Delivery
- Own operational outcomes for one or more data center sites, ensuring 24x7 readiness and reliability.
- Oversee preventive/corrective maintenance, contractor management, asset lifecycle planning, and risk controls.
- Ensure operational readiness for capacity additions and customer fit-outs, coordinating approvals and site support.
- Provide leadership in technical delivery and operational excellence, ensuring projects meet design and compliance standards.
3. Government & Regulatory Engagement
- Manage relationships with government authorities to secure land acquisition, permits, and reliable access to power.
- Coordinate timely responses to inspections, compliance matters, and regulatory requests.
- Partner with legal and external counsel to manage contracts, disputes, and risk mitigation.
4. Customer Operations & Service Delivery
- Lead customer operations to ensure SLA performance, clear communications, and timely issue resolution.
- Oversee onboarding, site access governance, work authorizations, and service review routines.
5. Corporate Administration & Finance
- Ensure strong corporate governance: policies, delegation of authority, documentation, and internal controls.
- Lead budgeting and expense management, balancing cost efficiency with safety and reliability.
- Oversee procurement and vendor governance, including contracting and performance management.
6. Security & Business Continuity
- Own local physical security and crisis readiness, including emergency response and business continuity planning.
- Maintain strong site security governance aligned with customer and compliance expectations.
7. People Leadership & Culture
- Build and develop a high-performing local team across operations and support functions.
- Establish clear roles, expectations, and development plans; ensure staffing coverage for 24x7 needs.
- Foster a culture of safety, customer focus, integrity, and continuous improvement.
8. Reporting & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Provide structured reporting on operations, finance, risks, and priorities to regional leadership.
- Coordinate with HQ/regional teams to leverage shared services while maintaining strong local execution.
Requirements
- 10+ years of leadership experience in data centers, critical facilities, telecom, or infrastructure operations.
- Proven track record managing 24x7 mission-critical operations with strong safety and reliability outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience working with government agencies for land acquisition and securing access to power.
- Strong background in technical delivery or operations within data center or infrastructure environments.
- Business management capability including budgeting, cost control, vendor governance, and reporting.
- Knowledge of corporate operations: compliance, tax/finance coordination, contracting, and internal controls.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with customers, utilities, regulators, landlords, and suppliers.
- Excellent communication and decision-making under pressure; high integrity and ownership mindset.
- Willingness to travel locally/regionally as required.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Business, Finance, Law, or related discipline.
- Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in global data center or colocation environments serving hyperscale/enterprise customers.
- Experience leading country operations in a matrix environment with regional/HQ shared services.
- Familiarity with operational best practices and governance frameworks.
- Certifications in critical environment operations, facilities management, EHS, or project management are a plus.
