IBM BPM / ODM Administrator



Role Purpose



The IBM BPM/ODM Administrator is responsible for administering, configuring, and maintaining IBM Business Process Manager (BPM) and IBM Operational Decision Manager (ODM) platforms across multiple environments. This role ensures the stability, availability, security, and performance of BPM/ODM systems and supports deployment and operational activities for enterprise business processes and decision services.



The position works closely with development, infrastructure, and business teams to troubleshoot issues, optimize system performance, and uphold governance and operational standards.





Key Responsibilities



Platform Administration & Support




  • Manage, configure, and maintain IBM BPM (Process Center, Process Server) and IBM ODM environments.

  • Ensure availability, reliability, and optimal performance of BPM and ODM platforms.

  • Perform regular system health checks, monitoring, and performance tuning activities.

  • Troubleshoot platform issues and provide technical support to internal stakeholders.



Deployment & Environment Management




  • Support and manage deployments across DEV, SIT, UAT, and PROD environments.

  • Handle configuration updates, platform upgrades, patches, and environment refreshes.

  • Automate routine tasks using Shell/Python scripts where applicable.



Operational Governance




  • Ensure compliance with operational standards, security controls, and best practices.

  • Maintain accurate documentation for configurations, processes, and environment changes.

  • Collaborate with development and business teams to resolve environment-related issues efficiently.



Backup & Recovery




  • Conduct backup and recovery operations for BPM/ODM repositories and configurations.

  • Support disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution.





Qualifications & Experience




  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience administering IBM BPM and IBM ODM platforms.

  • Strong background supporting enterprise-scale BPM/ODM implementations.

  • Proficient in Linux/Unix administration and WebSphere Application Server (WAS).

  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and documentation abilities.





Technical Skills




  • IBM BPM (Process Center, Process Server, process applications administration)

  • IBM ODM (Decision Center, Rule Execution Server, Decision Warehouse)

  • WebSphere Application Server (WAS) administration

  • Linux/Unix operating systems

  • Deployment & configuration management across multi-tier environments

  • Monitoring, logs analysis, and system health management

  • Scripting (Shell, Python) for automation

  • Backup, recovery, and general environment support
