Overview



Our client is a leading digital infrastructure platform with a substantial hyperscale development pipeline across Asia.



The business is seeking a senior commercial leader to serve as its principal relationship owner for US-headquartered hyperscale cloud, AI and large-scale compute customers. The role will originate, shape and secure long-term capacity commitments across a multi-market Asian portfolio, leveraging deep relationships within infrastructure sourcing, capacity planning and site-selection teams based in the United States.



The position will will act as a critical bridge between North American customer demand and Asian development execution.



Reporting Line



Reporting directly to the C-suite, with regular exposure to executive leadership and investment stakeholders, this role will work closely with commercial, development and delivery teams across the platform.



The position combines strategic customer engagement, market intelligence and commercial origination responsibilities, playing a key role in influencing future development priorities and customer partnerships.



Ideal Profile



This search is benchmarked against senior infrastructure sourcing and capacity acquisition executives who have operated at scale within the hyperscale, cloud or digital infrastructure ecosystem.



Candidates should possess:




  • Deep understanding of hyperscale capacity procurement and infrastructure deployment.

  • Experience negotiating complex, long-term commercial agreements.

  • Strong technical understanding of data centre infrastructure, power, connectivity and critical systems.

  • Broad knowledge of established and emerging data centre markets.

  • Extensive relationships across cloud, AI and hyperscale infrastructure organisations.

  • Approximately 20-25 years of relevant industry experience.



The strongest candidates will be viewed as trusted peers by senior infrastructure, sourcing and capacity-planning stakeholders rather than traditional vendors.

  • Large-scale compute operators

  • Emerging cloud providers



Relationship credibility and industry trust will be critical differentiators.



Asian Market Understanding



Strong appreciation of the dynamics that influence data centre development and deployment across Asia, including:




  • Power availability

  • Regulatory frameworks

  • Development timelines

  • Land and infrastructure constraints

  • Availability zone architecture

  • Latency and connectivity considerations



Commercial Structuring Capability



Experience bridging differing development and procurement horizons, including:




  • Early-stage commitments

  • Capacity reservation structures

  • Conditional commitments

  • Phased deployment frameworks

  • Flexible contracting mechanisms

Customer Origination



Develop and maintain executive-level relationships with hyperscale, cloud and AI customers headquartered in North America.



Strategic Deal Leadership



Originate and shape large-scale capacity transactions across Asia, partnering with regional commercial and delivery teams from opportunity creation through commercial agreement.



Voice of the Customer



Translate customer infrastructure strategies, site-selection criteria and future capacity requirements into actionable development and investment recommendations.



Market Intelligence



Act as a senior advisor to the leadership team by monitoring:




  • Hyperscale expansion trends

  • AI infrastructure demand

  • Capacity procurement strategies

  • Competitive supply developments

  • Regional and global market dynamics



Industry Representation



Represent the platform at executive forums, customer leadership meetings and strategic industry events as a recognised and trusted industry voice.



Non-negotiable: the successful individual must be received as a peer by hyperscaler infrastructure, sourcing and capacity-planning leadership, with the credibility and relationships necessary to engage at the highest level from day one.
