Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Identify, develop, and manage new business opportunities across the territory
- Build and maintain strong relationships with enterprise clients including telecoms, financial institutions, ISPs, and public sector organisations
- Drive sales pipeline growth and consistently achieve revenue targets
- Lead end-to-end solution selling, articulating value propositions to clients
- Accurately forecast sales performance and maintain CRM pipeline visibility
Strategic Execution
- Develop and implement market segment strategies to support growth
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities
- Support marketing initiatives including events, roadshows, and product launches
- Adapt strategies in response to evolving market and customer needs
Client Engagement & Collaboration
- Conduct regular client meetings, presentations, and engagements across the region
- Collaborate with internal technical, engineering, and operations teams to deliver tailored solutions
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and long-term relationship management
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum 8+ years' experience in sales or business development within data centres, IT infrastructure, or telecommunications
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and closing skills
- Ability to communicate complex technical solutions clearly to clients
- Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously
- Self-driven, entrepreneurial, and adaptable across diverse markets
- Data centre infrastructure, design, and operations
- Colocation and hosting solutions (cabinet, cage, suite models)
- Cloud computing, managed services, and IT infrastructure
- Networking, carriers, and connectivity solutions
- CRM systems (e.g., Zoho) and sales analytics tools
- Market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape
- Relevant tertiary qualification (preferred)
- Industry certifications (e.g., DCIM, CDCP, SPIN Selling) advantageous
- Technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco) beneficial
- Experience working with enterprise clients across telecoms, banking, or public sector
- Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., Uptime Institute, BICSI)
- Valid passport and willingness to travel across Africa
