Job Summary
The Electrician Assembly Team Leader is a hands-on working leader responsible for guiding a team of electricians in the electrical assembly and wiring of manufactured equipment and systems. This role balances active participation on the floor with day-to-day leadership, ensuring electrical assemblies are built safely, accurately, and on schedule to meet production and quality requirements.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Lead a team of electricians in hands-on electrical assembly, wiring, and installation of manufactured products
- Actively perform electrical work alongside the team as needed
- Assign daily work, monitor progress, and adjust priorities to meet production schedules
- Read, interpret, and execute work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and bills of material
- Ensure assemblies meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements
- Troubleshoot electrical and assembly issues and provide technical guidance to team members
- Perform inspections and functional testing of completed electrical assemblies
- Enforce electrical safety practices, lockout/tagout procedures, and company policies
- Coordinate with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to resolve design or build issues
- Train and mentor electricians and assemblers; support onboarding and skill development
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area (5S principles)
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased manufacturing efficiency
Job Requirements:
- Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent electrical certification
- 5+ years of experience in electrical assembly or industrial/manufacturing electrical work
- Previous experience as a lead, senior electrician, or supervisor preferred
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Working knowledge of NEC, electrical safety standards, and industrial best practices
- Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
