Electrical Engineer Team Lead

An established employee-owned specialty contractor with nationwide operations is seeking a Director of Electrical Engineering to lead electrical engineering strategy, technical execution, and project team oversight across large-scale, complex projects.

This role is focused on major project types including data centers, pharmaceuticals, hospitals, advanced manufacturing, mission-critical facilities, and complex electrical infrastructure. The successful candidate will oversee engineering teams on large projects with electrical scopes of $60M+, providing technical leadership from design through construction and delivery.

The Opportunity

This is a senior leadership role for an experienced Electrical Engineering leader who can combine strong technical expertise with the ability to manage teams, support project execution, and guide complex electrical delivery at scale.

You will be responsible for overseeing electrical engineering teams across major national projects, ensuring designs are technically sound, commercially aligned, and delivered to the highest standard. This is a remote position, but the role will have significant visibility across project leadership, engineering, preconstruction, operations, and client-facing teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee electrical engineering teams on complex, large-scale projects with electrical scopes of $60M+


• Provide technical leadership across data centers, healthcare, pharmaceutical, advanced manufacturing, and mission-critical projects


• Oversee electrical design, engineering standards, constructability, and project execution strategy


• Support project teams from early design and preconstruction through construction, commissioning, and closeout


• Review and approve technical design packages, calculations, specifications, and engineering documentation


• Lead, mentor, and develop electrical engineering teams across multiple projects and regions


• Act as a senior technical point of contact for clients, internal project teams, and executive leadership


• Partner closely with operations, estimating, preconstruction, and field leadership to ensure successful delivery


• Drive consistency, quality, innovation, and best practice across the electrical engineering function


• Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, safety requirements, and client specifications

Requirements

• Active PE / Professional Engineer license required


• Strong electrical engineering background within complex project environments


• Experience delivering large electrical projects, ideally with electrical scopes of $60M+


• Background in project types such as data centers, pharmaceuticals, hospitals, advanced manufacturing, life sciences, or mission-critical facilities


• Proven experience leading engineering teams on major projects


• Strong knowledge of power distribution, switchgear, UPS systems, generators, emergency power, grounding, lighting, and complex electrical infrastructure


• Experience working with contractors, field teams, preconstruction, and project delivery teams


• Strong understanding of constructability, project execution, and technical risk management


• Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead internal teams and engage with clients


• Comfortable working remotely while supporting nationwide project teams

Salary: $200,000+ DOE
