Director of Business Development – CEE Region (OLT & Broadband Access)

(Independent Contractor)





Location: EMEA / Central & Eastern Europe (Remote / Field-based)



Compensation: EUR 120,000 base salary + EUR 100,000 in uncapped commission 





Role Summary



The client is seeking an experienced, commercially driven Business Development leader to drive growth in the OLT (Optical Line Terminal) and broadband access market across the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) region. This role is focused on identifying and securing commercial opportunities, building strategic partnerships with systems integrators, and developing strong relationships with Tier-2 and Tier-3 ISPs and ecosystem partners.



This is a consulting engagement, not a direct employment position.





Key Responsibilities




  • Lead and expand business development initiatives across the CEE market

  • Establish and maintain senior-level relationships with Tier-2/Tier-3 ISPs, system integrators, and broadband ecosystem partners

  • Identify, qualify, and close commercial opportunities and strategic partnerships within the telecom and broadband access market

  • Drive market entry strategies, partner development, and customer engagement initiatives

  • Lead and manage relationships with systems integrators

    • Note: This role focuses on overall partner capability, governance, and commercial alignment—not hands-on integration execution



  • Act independently as a senior consultant representing the client in market-facing discussions





Candidate Profile




  • Strong background in telecommunications or networking business development, ideally with experience at:


    • Network equipment vendors

    • Systems integrators

    • Broadband access or optical networking solution providers



  • Strong technical and product fluency in PON technologies (GPON / XGS-PON), preferably including:

    • Disaggregated network architectures

    • White-box hardware environments



  • Well-established relationships within the broadband access ecosystem

  • Candidates with Product Management backgrounds and strong commercial acumen are also encouraged to apply

  • Comfortable operating independently in a senior, consultative capacity





Engagement Type




  • Independent Consultant


    • No employment, agency, or representation authority



  • Initial 12-month engagement, renewable based on performance 





Compensation



The compensation structure (monthly retainer plus performance-based KPI bonus) is negotiable and will be determined based on the candidate's experience, market presence, and industry network.
