Data Centre Site Manager 

A well-capitalised international data centre platform is seeking an experienced Data Centre Site Manager to take full ownership of operations across one or more mission-critical sites in Finland.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role with end-to-end responsibility for availability, compliance, efficiency, customer service, and team performance in a Tier III / Tier IV environment.


The Role

You will be responsible for the safe, resilient, and efficient 24/7 operation of hyperscale / colocation data centre facilities, overseeing electrical, mechanical, IT operations, security, compliance, and customer service.


Key focus areas include:

  • Site operations strategy, KPIs, availability, and PUE optimisation
  • Leadership and development of local operations teams
  • Electrical, mechanical, and IT systems oversight
  • Free cooling optimisation and waste-heat recovery initiatives
  • Regulatory compliance (Finnish & EU standards)
  • Vendor, supplier, and budget management
  • Customer engagement and audit readiness
  • Incident response, risk management, and emergency planning


Key Requirements

  • 8+ years’ experience in data centre operations or critical facilities
  • Proven leadership experience managing on-site operations teams
  • Strong knowledge of electrical & mechanical systems in mission-critical environments
  • Experience with Tier III / Tier IV facilities
  • Strong understanding of PUE optimisation, free cooling, and energy efficiency
  • Familiarity with Finnish and EU regulatory frameworks (EN 50600, GDPR, safety legislation)
  • Confident operating in a 24/7, high-availability environment


Preferred Experience

  • Finnish S1 / S2 certification or equivalent
  • Prior experience operating data centres in Finland or the Nordics
  • Exposure to renewable energy integration (hydro, wind) and sustainability initiatives
  • Experience managing audits and hyperscale / enterprise customers
  • Bilingual Finnish / English capability
