### Job Title: Senior Data Centre M&E Construction Manager
### Job Overview
A leading international developer of data centres is seeking a Senior M&E Construction Manager to lead the delivery of large-scale, technically complex capital projects. The role oversees the full project lifecycle from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover, ensuring excellence in mechanical and electrical execution, cost control, and stakeholder coordination.
### Key Responsibilities
**Project Leadership**
- Lead the M&E delivery across multiple concurrent capital projects, overseeing planning, execution, and handover phases
- Direct site teams, contractors, and consultants to ensure project milestones are met on schedule and within budget
- Identify and proactively manage project risks, providing clear reporting to senior leadership and client stakeholders
**Commercial & Contract Management**
- Lead contract negotiations for M&E packages, managing amendments and variations with contractors and consultants
- Evaluate construction methodologies for cost-effectiveness and constructability
- Monitor project budgets, forecast expenditures, and deliver regular progress and financial reports
**Stakeholder Engagement**
- Serve as the primary point of contact for M&E-related matters with contractors, consultants, authorities, and internal teams
- Support business development and client-facing teams in technical discussions related to project progress and issue resolution
**Technical Oversight**
- Collaborate with design consultants to ensure M&E systems are optimized for reliability, efficiency, and maintainability
- Oversee the integration of complex mechanical, electrical, and life safety systems
- Lead the testing, commissioning, and handover of M&E systems to operations teams
**Safety & Regulatory Compliance**
- Champion site safety initiatives, ensuring full compliance with local regulations and industry best practices
- Manage permitting and authority approval processes to maintain project momentum
### Qualifications
**Experience**
- Minimum 10 years of experience in M&E construction management, with a track record of delivering large-scale industrial or mission-critical facilities
- Experience in sectors such as data centers, semiconductor manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or advanced industrial plants is highly regarded
**Technical Expertise**
- Deep knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, power distribution, fire protection, and building management systems
- Familiarity with testing and commissioning protocols for complex facilities
- Understanding of local authority approval processes and regulatory frameworks
**Commercial Acumen**
- Proven experience in CAPEX planning, cost estimation, and budget management for multi-million dollar projects
- Experience with alternative contract models such as GMP or ECI is advantageous
**Education & Skills**
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, and project management software
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Resilient, proactive, and able to perform under pressure
**Language**
- Fluent in English
- Proficiency in additional Asian languages is a plus
### Location & Package
- **Locations**: Based in Kuala Lumpur or Johor Bahru, with travel to project sites as required
