Our client, a fast-growing data centre company, is looking for a logistics manager.
Job Description: Logistics ManagerJob Purpose
The Logistics Manager will oversee international logistics operations for large-scale industrial projects, ensuring safe, compliant, and cost-effective transportation of equipment from manufacturers to project sites. The role includes packaging validation, vendor management, and continuous improvement of supply chain processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Packaging Review & Compliance
- Review and approve export packaging plans for industrial equipment.
- Ensure compliance with international shipping standards and destination regulations.
- Verify protective measures for long-haul transport.
- End-to-End Logistics Management
- Manage the logistics lifecycle from factory dispatch to overseas delivery.
- Coordinate multimodal transportation (land, sea, last-mile).
- Monitor schedules, mitigate risks, and ensure on-time delivery.
- Vendor & Freight Forwarder Management
- Supervise third-party logistics providers.
- Evaluate vendor performance on cost, service quality, and reliability.
- Conduct reviews and enforce KPIs.
- Supply Chain SOP Development
- Develop and standardize logistics SOPs.
- Establish workflows for packaging, transport, customs clearance, and site delivery.
- Align SOPs with project execution requirements.
- Continuous Improvement & Issue Resolution
- Identify gaps and inefficiencies in logistics operations.
- Analyse performance data and incident reports.
- Drive corrective and preventive actions with partners.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Cross-functional Coordination
- Collaborate with procurement, engineering, and project teams.
- Provide accurate logistics timelines and cost estimates for project planning.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in logistics or supply chain management; international project exposure preferred.
- Professional certifications (e.g., APICS CSCP, APICS CLTD, CITP) are advantageous.
- Strong understanding of international logistics processes (export/import, Incoterms, customs clearance).
- Familiarity with packaging standards for large-scale industrial equipment.
- Proficient in English for business communication.
- Strong coordination, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
