Data Center Mechanical Engineer – Riyadh



Reports to: Construction Manager - Data Center Engineering Services



Objective:



As a Data Center Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for design review, construction supervision, and commissioning of mechanical systems within large-scale data center projects. You will work closely with design teams, contractors, and technology providers to ensure compliance with international standards and deliver high-performance, reliable infrastructure.



 



Responsibilities:




  • Review and validate mechanical designs, layouts, and specifications for cooling systems and related infrastructure.

  • Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical equipment such as chillers, cooling towers, CRAH/CRAC units, AHUs, pumps, and VRF systems.

  • Coordinate with design and installation teams to resolve technical queries and improve design based on lessons learned.

  • Conduct site inspections, generate punch lists, and recommend enhancements for optimal performance.

  • Ensure integration of mechanical systems with electrical, ELV, and security systems for seamless operations.

  • Review and approve material submittals and shop drawings for compliance with project requirements.

  • Monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to safety standards and project timelines.

  • Collaborate with OEM vendors and technology providers to ensure timely delivery and installation of equipment.

  • Stay updated on latest technologies and best practices in data center engineering.

  • Prepare periodic progress reports and communicate status updates to project stakeholders.



 



Requirements:




  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent professional qualification.

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in data center design and construction, including consulting and engineering services.

  • Strong knowledge of Tier topologies, Uptime Institute guidelines, and TIA-942 standards.

  • Expertise in mechanical systems design, configuration, and commissioning.

  • Must be based in Saudi Arabia with valid work authorization.

  • Excellent English communication skills are mandatory; Arabic is highly advantageous.



 



Good to have:




  • Familiarity with OEM vendors such as Trane, York, Carrier, Daikin, Vertiv, Schneider, ABB, and Cummins.

  • Exposure to telecom, banking, or large-scale data center projects.
