We're Hiring: Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

FPG is proud to be partnering with a leading regional telecom operator to support the appointment of their next Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

This high-impact executive role is responsible for defining and executing the company's technology strategy to drive innovation, operational excellence, and long-term competitive advantage. The CTO will play a key role in aligning technology decisions with business strategy, leading 5G integration and digital transformation initiatives, and positioning the organization at the forefront of telecom innovation in the region.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Strategy & Innovation:

• 
  

  Define and execute the company's long-term technology vision, with a focus on leveraging emerging technologies such as 5G to accelerate growth.

  
  


• 
  

  Identify and assess strategic technology trends, investments, and partnerships to support future competitiveness.

  
  


• 
  

  Lead product and infrastructure innovation, ensuring the technical roadmap is aligned with business goals.

  
  

Operational & Technical Leadership:

• 
  

  Oversee technical operations, network design, security, and service quality across all regions.

  
  


• 
  

  Manage forecasting and planning for infrastructure, equipment, and software based on future user demands.

  
  


• 
  

  Ensure cost control and adherence to technical budgets, development expenditures, and project timelines.

  
  

Executive Collaboration & Decision-Making:

• 
  

  Actively contribute to executive-level strategic planning and corporate decision-making.

  
  


• 
  

  Provide technical leadership across all business units, working closely with the CEO, CFO, and Board of Directors.

  
  

People & Performance Leadership:

• 
  

  Lead and develop high-performing technical teams, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

  
  


• 
  

  Build internal capacity and ensure professional standards in technical planning, budgeting, and performance measurement.

  
  

Cross-Functional Engagement & Representation:

• 
  

  Represent the company in technical discussions with partners, vendors, and regulatory bodies.

  
  


• 
  

  Develop and maintain strong relationships with external thought leaders and technology partners.

  
  

Key Requirements

Professional Experience:

• 
  

  12–15 years of experience in telecom, with at least 5 years in a similar executive role.

  
  


• 
  

  Proven expertise in network operations, infrastructure planning, and large-scale technology programs.

  
  


• 
  

  Hands-on experience with 5G technology deployment and innovation is highly preferred.

  
  

Skills & Competencies:

• 
  

  Strategic thinker with the ability to translate emerging technologies into practical business value.

  
  


• 
  

  Strong leadership and people management skills in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.

  
  


• 
  

  Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at executive and board level.

Education & Languages:

• 
  

  Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.

  High proficiency in English is required; Kurdish and/or Arabic is a strong plus.
