An established and fast-evolving organisation operating in the regulated gaming and betting sector is looking to appoint a Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead its technology strategy across retail and digital platforms.
This is a senior executive role for a technology leader who enjoys operating at the intersection of business strategy, digital transformation, cybersecurity, and high-availability systems. The CIO will play a key role in shaping the future of the organisation’s digital ecosystem across multiple markets.

Your Impact
As CIO, you will define and drive the IT vision, ensuring that technology is a true enabler of growth, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and customer experience in a highly sensitive, always-on environment.
You will sit at executive level, influence strategic decisions, and lead multidisciplinary technical teams responsible for mission-critical platforms.
Key Responsibilities
IT Strategy & Executive Leadership
- Define and execute a medium- to long-term IT strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Act as a key member of the executive leadership team, contributing to company-wide strategic decisions.
- Establish strong IT governance, reporting, and performance dashboards.
- Identify and champion technology innovations that deliver measurable business value.
Digital Transformation
- Lead large-scale digital and systems transformation initiatives.
- Modernise tools, platforms, and processes to improve agility, scalability, and efficiency.
- Drive user adoption and change management across the organisation.
Technology & Team Leadership
- Lead and develop multidisciplinary teams covering infrastructure, networks, cybersecurity, development, DevOps, and support.
- Build strong succession, capability-building, and skills development plans.
- Manage key technology partners and service providers.
Security, Risk & Compliance
- Own the IT security strategy and ensure robust protection of data, platforms, and transactions.
- Oversee IT risk management, incident response, and security monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements relevant to gaming, payments, and digital operations.
Business Continuity & Resilience
- Define and maintain Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans.
- Guarantee high availability and resilience of critical systems, including betting platforms, customer databases, and payment systems.
Infrastructure, Cloud & Platforms
- Oversee the end-to-end technical architecture (on-prem, cloud, networks, data centres).
- Ensure performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Lead infrastructure and cloud strategy in line with future growth plans.
Digital Platforms & E-Commerce
- Oversee development and continuous improvement of web, mobile, and API-based platforms.
- Ensure excellent user experience, security, performance monitoring, and optimisation.
- Drive the implementation of BI, CRM, analytics, and marketing automation tools.
IT Project Portfolio Management
- Own the full IT project portfolio (budget, timelines, quality, resources).
- Apply structured project governance (Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall depending on context).
- Coordinate internal teams, external vendors, and regulatory stakeholders.
What You Bring
Background & Experience
- 10+ years in senior IT leadership roles, with at least 5 years at CIO / IT Director / CTO level.
- Proven experience in regulated, high-availability, or transaction-heavy environments.
- Exposure to gaming, fintech, payments, or large-scale e-commerce platforms is a strong advantage.
Technical Strength
- Deep understanding of enterprise IT architecture, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and networks.
- Strong grasp of scalability, resilience, and security in mission-critical systems.
- Comfortable working with monitoring, performance, and observability tools.
Leadership Style
- Strategic thinker with strong executive presence.
- Decisive, structured, and calm in complex or high-pressure environments.
- Results-driven with excellent stakeholder communication skills.
Education & Certifications
- Master’s degree in IT, Engineering, or Business with an Information Systems focus.
- Certifications such as ITIL, PMP, CISM, or similar are advantageous.
