BIM Specialist

A leading employee-owned construction contractor is seeking a BIM / Design Specialist to support the delivery of large-scale mission critical projects across the West Coast. Working alongside project teams, engineers, trade partners, and field operations, you will play a key role in developing, coordinating, and managing BIM models throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring seamless integration between design and construction activities.

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate, and maintain BIM models for complex mission critical construction projects.


• Lead clash detection and coordination efforts between multiple disciplines.


• Collaborate with project teams, consultants, owners, and subcontractors to resolve design and constructability issues.


• Produce detailed construction drawings, shop drawings, and installation documentation.


• Support prefabrication, virtual design, and construction planning initiatives.


• Assist with model-based quantity takeoffs and project visualization.


• Ensure BIM standards, workflows, and quality control procedures are maintained throughout project delivery.


• Participate in coordination meetings and provide technical support to field teams.

Requirements

• Experience working in BIM, VDC, Design Coordination, or MEP Design roles within the construction industry.


• Background in either Electrical or Plumbing systems is required.


• Proficiency with Revit and Navisworks.


• Experience coordinating MEP systems on commercial, industrial, healthcare, data center, or mission critical projects.


• Strong understanding of construction documents, building systems, and installation sequencing.


• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.


• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced project environment.

Preferred

• Experience on data center, mission critical, advanced manufacturing, or highly technical construction projects.


• Knowledge of AutoCAD, BIM 360, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or related software platforms.


• Trade experience or field construction knowledge.


• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Design Technology, or a related discipline.
