A leading, fast-growing engineering consultancy specialising in hyperscale data centres and mission-critical infrastructure is seeking an experienced Associate Director – Mechanical to join its expanding team.

This is an exciting leadership role offering the opportunity to work on cutting-edge data centre projects across the Middle East, Europe, and Asia, delivering innovative, high-performance engineering solutions for global clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical engineering discipline across multiple projects


• Oversee HVAC, public health, and fire protection system design delivery


• Ensure technical excellence, compliance, and quality across all outputs


• Drive engineering standards, design optimisation, and value engineering initiatives


• Manage, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary engineering teams


• Collaborate with electrical, structural, BIM, and architectural teams


• Support project planning, resource management, and delivery timelines


• Provide site support, inspections, and commissioning input


• Contribute to client engagement, proposals, and business growth

Requirements

• 15+ years’ experience in mechanical engineering


• Proven leadership in data centres  OR  mission-critical infrastructure projects


• Strong expertise in:
  
  
  
  • HVAC systems & thermal design
  
  
  • Chilled water & precision cooling systems
  
  
  • International standards (ASHRAE, CIBSE, NFPA)
  
  
  
  


• Experience managing multidisciplinary design teams


• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Bachelor’s or Master’s)


• Professional certification (CEng / PE or equivalent preferred)


• 
  
  Willingness to travel for key stakeholder engagement as require 

Desirable Experience

• Hyperscale data centre project delivery


• Sustainable and energy-efficient design solutions


• Advanced tools (Revit, IES, HAP, AutoCAD, CFD)


• Client-facing leadership roles in international environments
