    Technical Project Manager

    FPG are recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading systems integration company in the telecommunications industry. They supply end-to-end telecommunications solutions for fixed and mobile network operators and transport organizations all over the world.

    They are looking to hire a Technical Project Manager with over 5 years? experience in telecommunications deployment or systems integrations projects, with fantastic organisation skills, and natural customer management skills.

    This is a permanent role based in London.

    Job role:

    • The Project Manager is required to provide first rate customer service whilst working on multiple projects concurrently, ensuring contractual commitment is met (scope, time, quality, budget) in line with the company?s processes & guidelines.
    • They are looking for someone who will understand the needs of the customer and have a proven track record of delivering time efficient and successful projects.
    • The PM will also be the contact point for all post in-service support matters, including point of escalation, contract renewals with 3rd parties, managing the local support team as well as representing the company at monthly/quarterly operational review meetings with the clients.

    Technical Project Manager Responsibilities

    • Manage multiple Mission Critical Networks projects, from initiation through to closure, with a special focus on; a) managing the customers? expectations; b) delivering the projects within the agreed budget, schedule, scope and quality; c) managing the sub-contractors and any scope creep
    • Be responsible for end to end planning of projects? scope, financials, schedules and resources
    • Act as primary interface for customers, develop customer relationships and ensure customer satisfaction
    • Manage changes and identify opportunities to improve profitability & quality
    • Manage and mitigate risks in order to meet contractual KPI
    • Provide visibility and reporting to the Head of UK Service Delivery, Sales Manager , detect and manage any project deviation and escalation
    • Communicate with various departments, including finance, engineering and pre-sales on the resources needed for project delivery
    • Work with technical teams to understand the plans of the client and provide suggestions for the best approach to achieve the client?s goals.
    • Manage resources, time, budget and scope of projects to ensure project delivery is in line with requirements of the company and the client.
    • Complete all necessary paperwork, such as performance reports, post-project reviews and schedules.
    • Successfully hand over the projects to the clients operations team upon successful completion of the projects Primary interface for customers, developing a strong relationship with the clients, ensuring customer satisfaction
    • Support sales team with providing input to sales offer
    • Embrace changes and identify opportunities to improve customer satisfaction, processes and margin
    • Manage and mitigate risks in order to meet contractual KPI
    • Customer contact for support organisation, including managing the local support team
    • Provide regular status reports internally and to the customer.
    • Anticipate and manage customer escalation and keep management abreast of the situation


    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in engineering, business or telecommunications.
    • Certification in project management (e.g. PMI)
    • At least 5 years’ project management experience in the telecommunication industry, preferably in the rollout of wireless networks (GSM/UMTS/LTE)
    • Proven experience and track record within a Project Management role
    • Experience of managing multiple complex projects simultaneously
    • Strong natured individual to manage resources and ensure the project is delivered in a timely manner.
    • Highly organised person with excellent multitasking and prioritisation skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Profound understanding of network deployment and integration of wireless systems as well as of financial issues
    • Effective skills in negotiating and team work as well client and relationship management
    • Ability to work effectively and to deliver results in challenging and complex environments

    • Understanding of GSM/GSM-R technology
