    First Point Group have partnered with a leading telecoms company to find Sr RF Design Engineer – Wi-Fi to work with them in Denver on a long term contract opportunity.

    The Sr RF Design Engineer – Wi-Fi will ideally have 8 years work experience in Wi-Fi Planning, Design, and analysis. Familiar with 802.11 standards and Wi-Fi alliance developments. Experience with RF planning tools is must. But, further training on Wi-Fi is available.

    As the Sr RF Design Engineer – Wi-Fi your background and experience will ideally include:

    ? A deep understand of IEEE 802.11 standards (a,b,g) 802.11x, 2.4GHz, 5GHz, wireless network technologies. Confidential LWAPP and IOS based solutions.).
    ? Experience performing in-depth site survey?s using Ekahau Side kick, Aircheck and Packet capture tools to determine pre-existing/Baseline environments.
    ? Integratation knowledge of building construction, RF behavioral characteristics and current hardware vendor limitations to create a design proposal.
    ? The ability to understand Physical and Data-link layer media properties and implications as they relate to network architecture (i.e. fiber optics, 802.11, HFC, DOCSIS, RF, etc.)
    ? Collection of all design assumptions for assigned market from Project Lead and marketing team including antenna database, morphology classes, AOI?s, site database, hotspots, service expectations, traffic data and regulatory data (ASAC/FAA/FCC).
    ? Obtaining Link Budget from the RF Design Guidelines. Create a project in Planet RF planning tool on suitable PC platforms.
    ? Incorporating path loss model, design assumptions and link budget data in design, produce traffic maps and run predictions and simulations as described in the RF Design.
    ? Studied the RF design coverage maps and identify problem areas in terms of coverage, Cochannel and adjacent channel interference.
    ? Supported efforts to maximize the performance of public W-iFi infrastructure, while protecting the performance and experience of users on their own private SSID for tier-1 markets.
    ? The ability to transform and Geo process data using the post processing tools such as QGIS, MapInfo, and ArcMap based on Geographic locations.

    The Sr RF Design Engineer – Wi-Fi you will be certified and experienced in the below:

    ? 802.11 g/n/ac protocols, Cisco/Meraki APs, Ruckus AP?s, MU/SU-MIMO, Beamforming, Band Steering features.
    ? iBwave Level 1 and Level 2 certification required.
    ? CWNA, CWDP certification required.
    ? Spectrum Analyzer, Network Analyzer, PC TEL iB Flex and JDSU Scanners, Net Scout, Packet Capture.
    ? Deep understanding of WLAN technologies, network management including IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac WLAN standards and industry best practices.
    ? Must have excellent time management, oral and written communication skills.
    ? Trouble-shooting problems.
    ? Experience with building out network, design/documentation.
