In this strategically important role, will spearhead, define and establish the overarching vision for our client's IP and Optical Solutions in the UK. This opportunity will require a blend of your line management and technical architecture expertise.

Responsibilities:
- Spearhead and establish our client's vision for their latest IP and Optical Sales Engineering team in the UK.
- Lead a team of Sales Engineers covering the UK market and diverse technical solutions, including recruiting, training, and driving high performance.
- Collaborate with the Sales Leader to expand the IP business and maintain a leading position in the Optical market, in line with strategic account plans.
- Foster collaboration across Sales Engineering and Product Line Management (PLM) functions.
- Manage talent acquisition, development, and coaching for a team of highly skilled Sales Engineers across various technical domains.
- Ensure Sales Engineers are adequately trained on the relevant range of solutions.
- Support account teams in maintaining technical relationships with C-suite executives across different business areas.
- Act as a senior technical resource for customer-related issues, assisting with advanced customer applications – including reviewing quotes, RFX's and forecasts.
- Provide input on potential product features and their prioritization.
- Deliver presentations on relevant subjects to large audiences, including at conferences.
- Influence and capture customer applications to align with the company's product portfolio.
- Communicate the evolution of the product portfolio to customers, the SE team, and the broader GTM hub virtual team.
- Leverage strong business development and commercial acumen to support the UK's strategy, including entering new areas and evolving the Routing/Switching Networking portfolio.
- Present conceptual technology topics, including but not limited to 5G, SDN/NFV, and multi-layer network functionalities.
- Facilitate advanced architecture discussions encompassing routing/switching, Adaptive IP, Network Management, SDN/NFV/Cloud, and virtualization.
- You will have an expert knowledge of the telecommunications market, encompassing a wide remit including access, aggregation, next-generation metro, and core networks.
Collaboration with Stakeholders:
- Work with hub leaders to ensure adequate Sales Engineer coverage for accounts.
- Provide leadership on product strategies at a hub level in conjunction with account Sales Engineers.
- Serve as the senior customer-facing Sales Engineer resource when needed.
- Offer technical expertise to support Sales/Directors during complex sales of multi-product solutions.
- Update regional and global PLM on account solution requirements.
Areas of Impact:
- Engage various market segments, including Datacenter, utilities, Tier 1/2/3 operators, wholesale operators, and enterprises.
- Understand telecommunication networks, network management, and SDN (MDSO/NFV), with knowledge of relevant solutions.
- Liaise with engineering personnel to capture new feature requirements, articulate key needs, and position solutions accordingly.
- Develop strong relationship skills and the ability to inspire trust and influence others, including senior executives.
- Expert knowledge of core routing/switching technologies and protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, IGRP, G.8032, MPLS-TP, 802.1ag) and multi-layer network architectures (IP, Ethernet, MPLS) is required.
- Drive RFP processes and communicate technical quotations accurately.
- Understand competitive sales environments and strategic directions.
- Exhibit professionalism in attitude, conduct, and appearance.
- Have a solid grasp of current telecommunication architecture approaches and lead technical discussions across multiple network areas.
Experience:
- Technical degree (BSEE or equivalent experience).
