One of the world’s leading telecommunication companies is interviewing immediately for a Programme Manager with previous experience on UK 4G / LTE RAN Projects. This project is a long-term project with a tier 1 operator in the UK so any previous experience on projects/companies such as Ericsson / Huawei / Nokia / MBNL / EE / H3G / 3UK / Arqiva / Darwin / Beacon / Beacon 2 / GODIVA will be mandatory.

Purpose of this Position:
To manage the delivery of upgrades to the Project’s RAN network, covering design, lab test, field trials & pilots, and mass rollout readiness, following a defined Systems Introduction Process


  • Defining, agreeing and managing Systems Introduction Project Plans with all stakeholders, including client deliverables and all dependencies on the operator and Third Parties

Defining, agreeing and managing project plans for:

  • The definition of High-Level Designs and Test Plans and approvals by all stakeholders
  • Low-Level Designs for the client, the operator, and 3rd Party Network Elements/ Element Managers
  • Lab testing setting up test beds and completing testing
  • Field trials/ pilots

Driving impact assessments of RAN design changes on deployment and operational processes, systems, reporting, and team structures. Following the completion of impact assessments, ensure that implementation plans to support field trials and mass rollout are defined covering:

  • RAN Planning and Deployment
  • AT Planning and Deployment
  • Operations
  • OSS
  • Once deployment and operational plans to support field trials/ mass rollout have been defined proactively track the delivery of these plans, working with the project managers in these areas to manage issues and risks
  • Identify areas in which the Systems Introduction Process can be improved, and work with relevant stakeholders to make the necessary changes
  • Overall accountability for ensuring that RAN upgrades are successfully delivered into the operator with responsibility for adhering to the client?s Chariot project management processes


  • Appropriate qualifications in Project/ Programme Management
  • Thorough understanding of operator design, lab test, and trial processes

Specialist Skills:

  • Knowledge and deep understanding of UK Radio Access Networks
  • Deep understanding of the RAN design, lab test, and field trial/ pilot processes
  • Prime Integrator Role managing customer and 3rd parties deliverables
  • Understanding of RAN deployment and operations processes
  • Understanding of Access Transport
  • Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment
  • Experience of working in matrix managed environments
  • Soft skills: Results focused, resilient, resourceful, supportive, open and objective
  • Ability to deliver, work and lead multi-functional teams in a challenging, pressurized and fast-moving environment
