Head Of Network Operations

We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our client as the Head of Network Operations, focusing on the design, deployment, configuration, and restoration of fiber optic network transport systems and technology solutions in the broadband sector.


This critical leadership role involves driving strategic direction, managing implementation, and ensuring seamless operations across diverse platforms and locations. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting regional operations and maintaining an unparalleled customer experience.


Key Responsibilities


1. Network Leadership

  • Direct and lead Fiber Network Operations in collaboration with NOC and Field Operations to ensure network integrity, reliability, and continuous improvement in network performance.
  • Analyze tickets to track and promptly address outages and network issues for both internal fiber networks and 3rd party contract leases.


2. Customer Experience

  • Ensure timely response to customer inquiries and coordinate service-affecting repairs with the appropriate team.


3. Operational Oversight

  • Oversee critical operations, ongoing maintenance, and procedures of networks.
  • Provide engineering support and direction for new or existing technologies and operational initiatives.


4. Strategic Planning

  • Evaluate and consult with executive management regarding system operations and strategic planning for next-generation products and solutions.
  • Ensure current procedures and tests comply with Federal Communication Commission Standards.


5. Quality Control and Vendor Management

  • Evaluate and execute quality control programs for wireless operations, ensuring consistent operational procedures.
  • Participate in vendor selection and negotiations for project bids and equipment, providing recommendations based on price and quality.


7. Financial Management:

  • Direct the capital budget process and execute the approved budget plan.


8. Team Management and Development:

  • Assist in talent acquisition, training, and development of an effective and efficient staff.



Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience within the telecom/wireless industry, with a focus on fiber optic transport infrastructure and network operations.
  • Possess advanced technical proficiency to actively support teams in strategic planning, designing, and comprehending intricate network configurations.


Preferred Skills
  • Strong team management skills, particularly for mixed teams of internal employees and contractors.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, project management, and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively to the hiring company's clients network territory, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to various locations and environments.
